DIE is the Art & Science of teaching creative movement to children in schools. It includes theories, concepts & process of integrating dance into educational settings. Dance promotes physical fitness, enriches creativity and enhances expression in children. The sessions offer a space for children to enhance their confidence and social skills while learning academic subjects through dance.

The workshop offers:


Definition, principles, scope and objective of dance pedagogy

Innovative methods and techniques of teaching dance

Providing variety and contrast in movement experiences

Evaluating teaching and learning skills

Designing a dance curriculum


Creative movement activities & games

Creation of dance studies linked to subjects like Math, Science, Language etc

Customizing dance for different age groups

Enhancing facilitation skills

Educational Dance Choreography


The workshop is open to Teachers, Special Educators, Group leaders & Artists working with children.

 Workshop: ‘Rhythmic Movement & Self-Expression’

Facilitator: Sumeet Nagdev (Choreographer / Performer / Teacher)

@ Alliance Francaise De Bengaluru

The workshop will offer a blend of creative and contemporary dance techniques meant for non-dancers as well as trained dancers to expand their body language, explore their creativity and enhance their movement skills. Participants will experience a wide range of movements developed from a combination of Yoga, Modern Dance (Graham Technique) & Pilates. As muscles gradually open up and joints become more fluid, Sumeet will introduce basics of floor work and travelling sequences, to increase rhythmic mobility to percussive music. Movement segments will be interspersed with theory of modern dance and participants will create a choreography based on movement vocabulary learnt in the workshop.

Participants are required to have moderate physical fitness to attend this workshop.
